#1086 John Legend & The Roots – Hard Times (video)

I’m excited to hear that John Legend & The Roots’ collabo album,
Wake Up, will be out September 21st via Sony Music!!! The album will
feature tracks like Marvin Gaye’s Wholly Holy and Donny Hathaway’s
Little Ghetto Boy!!!, soulful music from the 60’s and 70’s!!

ニュー・アルバム『How I Got Over』を発売したばかりのルーツが、
ジョン・レジェントとのコラボレーション・アルバム『Wake Up!』を
9月21日にリリースするんだって ♪

収録曲は60〜70年代の楽曲をカヴァーしたものが主となっていて、
マーヴィン・ゲイ“Wholly Holy”、ダニー・ハサウェイ“Little Ghetto Boy”
などもフィーチャーされているとのこと。また、唯一のオリジナル曲として
ジョン・レジェンドが新たに書き下ろした“Shine”も入る。この楽曲は、
米で公開予定のスーパーマンシリーズの新作映画にも使用される予定。

ビデオは、ベビー・ヒューイ＆ザ・ベビーシッターズ“Hard Times”カヴァー♪
あ〜こうなるとAnthony HamiltonとかD’angeloとかのエレメンツも絡んだ
ものも聴いてみたくなる〜と妄想。
